There are fireflies following me. It's becoming slightly irritating. There are... nearly thirty of them.

They move about constantly so I can't count them accurately.

Is there any way to get rid of these things?

I would suggest a gratuitous use of fire, but that does not seem to alleviate my own firefly problem. Shame.

There have been an awful lot of peculiar instances involving companions lately. The unicorns had meant something, but what of the swamp dragons and these fireflies, I wonder?

That seems a little cruel though, just to get rid of them.

They must mean something as well. A shame they don't come with directions.

Why, the old tales of unicorns approaching pure maidens. Added with the fact that some had finally taken the plunge and found their unicorns vanishing into thin air were but two of many clues pointing toward their conditional appearance.

'Tis a shame, really. Powdered or whole, their horns have endless benefits.

That would certainly help in learning about them.

I'm not sure any unicorn would appreciate losing their horn.

But they would be of a benefit to many, you see! Would a unicorn not be thankful of its sacrifice instead of following at the heels of a "maiden"?

I'd prefer to believe they followed maidens because they liked to. Their horn though, that's what makes them exactly what they are.

What better symbol is there to personify their purity than a horse with an amusingly rude shape sticking from their heads!
